Solo Solar LDA will build a 20MW solar plant on the island making it the country’s biggest IPP.
The related concession agreement was signed on June 13th, 2022, by the firm and the government.
Their respective representatives were Cesar Ruiz Munoz Director at Solo Solar LDA. and
Celestino da Graça Andrade, General Director of E.P. Water and Electricity Company (EMAE).
Under the deal, the State grants Solo Solar LDA all rights to design, finance, build, launch,
operate and maintain the facility which would sell the power produced to the E.P. Water and
Electricity Company, via the public utility network. In return, the firm will transfer, after the concession period, the power plant to the State.
